Bismarck Horse Club – Daily Awards Program 2009

We are trying a new system for day-end awards

We hope this new system will allow more participants access to prizes. We also hope to eliminate duplication of prizes for our winners.

We’ve been calling it the “Space Aliens plan” to help clarify the concept.

Here are the rules!!

Prizes will be given point values and displayed at each of the playdays (under the shelter)

Competitors will be given points for placing in classes
(same system as was used previously)

Points will be awarded at the end of the day.
If contestants leave early, they may see Jann to pick up their point cards, or they may collect them at the next playday.

Points can be accumulated throughout the season and redeemed at any of the four playdays.
(There is no guarantee that the prize you are aiming for will still be available!)

We welcome donation to help defer some of the costs of this new system.

If your family or business would like to contribute something, simply bring it to the playday, and we’ll assign it a point value and add it to the collection. Perhaps you have some duplicate prizes lying around from previous years you’d like to re-award. (I’ve heard that re-gifting has become proper in these hard times – I assume the same holds true for re-awarding!)

We appreciate your feedback and understanding as we try to implement this new plan.

We all know that competition is more about bringing about the best in ourselves and our horses and less about accumulating prizes, but I think we all agree that the trinkets we acquire are a fun benefit.
